We keep telling you that social media will get you your next job… But first you have to build trust within your network. How do you do that? Barry at CareerBlog describes what you can do to build that trust.
- First, give before you take. Refer job leads and opportunities you find. Giving to the community will help that community learn to trust you and will, in return, refer openings back to you.
- Second, be patient and active. Building trust takes time. It won’t happen overnight, but once you make strong connections, they will dramatically shorten the time of your next job search. Get involved in discussion groups.
